Bills 22, Broncos 24 | Final score, game highlights, and important statistics

In their Monday Night Football loss to the Denver Broncos, the Buffalo Bills committed four turnovers. Less than ninety minutes remaining in the game saw the Broncos take a one-point lead after scoring the game’s first touchdown. However, a pass interference call against Taron Johnson set up the game-winning field goal, which put the Broncos up 24-22.

Wil Lutz, the kicker for the Broncos, missed the first attempt, but when the Bills were called for having 12 players on defence, Lutz converted the second time around.

The Bills finish the season 5-5 and drop to 10th place in the AFC East.

Josh Allen scored on the ground in addition to throwing for 177 yards and a touchdown. There were three interceptions and one fumble by the quarterback.

James Cook finished with 120 total yards, recovering a fumble that cost him major gain that contributed to the Bills’ game-winning touchdown.

The first half was a challenge for the Bills offence, who was behind 15–8 at the half due to three mistakes that stifled any promising plays.

The Bills defence, led by A.J. Epenesa, who recorded two sacks and three quarterback hits, gave their opponent multiple chances to take the lead. Rasul Douglas recovered a fumble that Johnson forced in the third quarter to record the Bills’ first turnover. Latavius Murray, who played a portion of 2022 with the Broncos, responded for the Bills with a touchdown run.

Following a punt exchange between the two teams, Wilson oversaw a touchdown drive that consumed more than seven minutes. Although the Bills responded with a touchdown drive of their own, Wilson and the Broncos offence had too much time remaining to set up a field goal attempt.

Lutz’s first attempt went wide right, sending Highmark Stadium into a frenzy, but when the Bills were called for a penalty, the celebrations subsided into stunned stillness.

Next Sunday, the Bills and New York Jets will play at Highmark Stadium starting at 4:25 p.m.
