In the next MCU movie, Steven Yeun, who plays the character with the power of “a million suns,” will play the role.
Fans of The Walking Dead were shocked to learn that star Steven Yeun, who is best known for playing Glenn Rhee, has landed a big part as a superhero.
Robert Kirkman, who created the character, says that Yeun will enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the famous character The Sentry.
He said, “My good friend Steven Yeun is playing the Sentry in a movie.”
The Sentry, whose real name is Robert Reynolds, has been in comics for over 20 years. He has superpowers on par with Superman’s, but he also has mental health problems and a bad side personality called “The Void.”
Reynolds had erased all memories of his adventures as The Sentry from the thoughts of both the public and the heroes in the comics.
Kirkman told them that he had talked to Yeun about the new job. It seems that Yeun had just been to the outfit department to start getting ready for his role as The Sentry. People who remember Yeun as Invincible, another superhero part, will notice that both characters are colored in the same classic yellow and blue way.
Kirkman replied, “Yes, he called me and said, ‘I just got back from fitting for the Sentry costume.'” I guess I only draw blue and yellow superheroes. He said he was at the outfit fitting and thought, “Oh no!” Invincible was yellow and blue, but I forgot.
Jake Schreier will direct the 2025 Thunderbolts movie, which will be Yeun’s first role in the MCU as The Sentry. This movie will be different from other Marvel movies because it will have a campy group of rehabilitated bad guys and antiheroes working together.
Yeun joins a group that includes Sebastian Stan, Florence Pugh, Wyatt Russell, David Harbour, Harrison Ford, and many more famous people.
